With 35+ years of experience in instructing children and adults in riding and horsemanship, Shawna offers riding lessons for beginning to advanced riders. She is a patient and encouraging teacher, which helps all her students feel relaxed and safe as they learn.

She not only teaches the mechanics of riding but also all aspects of horse care, such as handling,grooming, feeding, tacking up, and safety. She wants her students to become responsible horse owners who are comfortable with all aspects of horse care.

  • Shawna offers instruction in a variety of disciplines: Western, Trail, Hunter, Reining, and Sport Horse and Saddle Seat. So what ever your preference is, Shawna can teach you!
  • Most lessons are taught at beautiful Arriba Vista Ranch in Sunol, where there are several arenas and miles of trails.
  • Gentle, safe lesson horses are available. If your horse is boarded close by, Shawna may be able to come to your facility for instruction.

Shawna has taken her students to local schooling shows, such as Ranchotel in Vacaville and Spring Stampede in Livermore. Some of her students also went with her to the All Amateur Show in Watsonville.
